[Sejong Campus] Spring Semester 2025- Notice on the Final Exam Schedule for Undergraduate Students

We announce the final exam schedule for the Spring 2025 semester at Korea University Sejong Campus as follows:

 

A. Final Exam Period: June 17 (Tue) – June 23 (Mon), 2025 [See Attachment 1 for details]

 

B. Exam Format
In principle, the exam is conducted in person.
However, exceptions may be made in the following cases, where remote (online) exams or assignments may replace in-person exams: Student is unavoidably staying abroad, student is infected by a widespread infectious disease, operational issues due to large class size, the nature of the course requires remote evaluation or assignments

 

Guidelines for Faculty and Departmental Staff

 

1.  Pre-Exam Consultation and Student Notification
Even if exam methods and grading policies were stated in the syllabus, please consult and notify students in advance to avoid confusion and ensure smooth exam administration.

 

2.  Academic Credit for Missed Exams (Due to Valid Reasons)
Students unable to attend the exam due to illness, military duty, or other unavoidable reasons may apply for grade recognition under Article 45-2 of the School Regulations and Articles 69 and 70 of the Academic Management Regulations.

3.  Use of Generative AI such as ChatGPT
In accordance with the university's basic guidelines on the use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, instructors are requested to comprehensively consider both the educational benefits and potential negative impacts of generative AI, determine whether its use (especially in assignment submissions) will be permitted in each course, and clearly inform students of this policy by including it in the course syllabus. [See Attachment 4]

 

4.  Grading Policy
Grades will be evaluated based on the type of grading (absolute/relative) and criteria set for each course. Specific grade processing schedules will be announced at the end of the semester.

 

5. Additional Notes on Exam Administration

1)  During the exam period, classes other than exams are, in principle, to be conducted in the originally designated format (face-to-face classes in person, and remote classes in real-time or recorded formats)

However, in unavoidable cases-such as conducting make-up classes outside regular class hours or difficulty securing classrooms due to overlapping exam schedules- remote classes may be utilized.

(Even for courses originally scheduled as in-person, make-up classes may be conducted in real-time or recorded online formats)

2)  In accordance with the Higher Education Act and Ministry of Education guidelines, each course must fulfill the legal requirement of 15 weeks of instruction (30 sessions for classes held twice a week, 15 sessions for once a week). Refer to the makeup class guidelines for details.

3)  In-person exams, remote exams, and assignment-based assessments each count as one class session.
