On April 18th, Korea University Sejong Campus Reserve Officers' Training Corps(ROTC), led by Commander Park Jusang, hosted a commissioning ceremony for its 63rd graduating class at the ROTC headquarters.

 

The event was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including Vice President Kim Young, ROTC Commander Park Jusang, ROTC Alumni Association President Chae Kidong, Senior Vice President Ji Younghan, Secretary-General Jeong Kyungyoung (28th class), Administrative Director Lee Gwanheon, and ROTC member Choi Cheon, among others.

 

The ceremony featured an opening, an official commissioning declaration, the presentation of honors to outstanding cadets, and congratulatory remarks. A total of 15 cadets were officially commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Republic of Korea Army. These new officers earned their commissions after completing two years of rigorous military education, training, and a final comprehensive evaluation. They will now undergo branch-specific advanced training before being assigned to active duty units.

 

The Korea University ROTC has produced over 1,500 officers for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and has been recognized multiple times as an exemplary ROTC unit.

 

Vice President Kim Young stated, “As citizens of the Republic of Korea, your commitment to serving the nation is deeply appreciated and commendable. I hope you will follow in the footsteps of the proud officers who came before you and grow into exemplary leaders who will guide the future of our country.”

 

Relatedly, the ROTC unit is currently recruiting candidates for its 66th and 67th classes. Eligible applicants include male and female freshmen and sophomores under the age of 29 as of the commissioning date. Selected cadets will benefit from various opportunities and incentives, including international military cultural exchanges, short-term service officer scholarships, personal maintenance stipends, and academic scholarships.
