Two graduates from Korea University Sejong Campus have been selected for the ‘Sejong City Overseas Study Scholarship Program,’ and will receive up to 100 million won in support over a maximum of two years. This scholarship program is designed to help outstanding students residing in Sejong City enhance their global competencies by advancing to overseas graduate schools. Last year, one student from Korea University Sejong Campus was selected.
On April 8, the Sejong City and the Sejong Human Resources & Lifelong Education Development Foundation hosted the ‘2025 Sejong City Overseas Study Scholarship Ceremony’ at the City Hall. During the event, graduates Jung Minhwi from the Department of Archaeology and Art History and Kang Minji from Creative Writing and Media Studies were announced as scholarship recipients.
Student Jung plans to begin a Ph.D. program in archaeology in Japan in 2026. During her studies, she aims to conduct systematic research on the raw materials, production techniques, and distribution routes of ancient metal crafts to build a solid empirical foundation and deepen her academic expertise. In particular, she plans to explore the historical significance and potential applications of Korean metal craft, and after completing her studies, she hopes to work as a researcher at a cultural heritage institution, studying the place of Korean metalworking techniques in East Asian and world history.
Student Kang is currently preparing to enter a master’s program in advertising and public relations in the UK. Her goal is to strengthen her skills in data analysis and application, as well as to develop her creative idea generation capabilities. Through her studies, she hopes to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in advertising and PR, ultimately becoming a professional advertising planner with both expertise and practical skills. After her studies, she aims to work in Korea as an expert in advertising planning and data marketing, contributing to enhancing Sejong City’s brand value and global image through impactful advertising campaigns and marketing strategies.
