On April 17, Professor Han Namhee of the Division of Global Sport Studies at Korea University Sejong Campus was appointed as Co-Chair of the Sport Reform Committee under the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee during the committee’s inaugural ceremony.

 

The Sport Reform Committee was established to restore public trust in the sports sector and promote its sustainable development. The launch event was attended by 22 committee members, including Lee Keeheung, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee.

 

Professor Han currently serves in multiple national and academic leadership roles, including as Chair of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee for the 2027 Chungcheong Summer Universiade Organizing Committee, Chair of the Forum of the Korea Sports Industry Association, and Vice President of the Korean Society for Sports Media.

 

Through this appointment, Professor Han is expected to play a key role in shaping national sports policy while also offering students valuable opportunities for practical experience. This is anticipated to positively impact sports-related research and career pathways, and to foster expanded industry-academic cooperation across departments.

 

On a related note, the Division of Global Sport Studies at Korea University Sejong Campus continues to strengthen its competitiveness in the sports industry and policy fields through a curriculum that combines theory with practice and a robust foundation in research and business collaboration.
